ABOUT THE BLOGGERS

Danielle and Rory are newlyweds living in Philadelphia, where they moved from their native Minnesota. They came to Philly for law school at Drexel University, but currently only Danielle has remained strong in her quest. She recently reached the end of her first year, and is now a legal rock star! For the summer she is interning at Philadelphia VIP (see post of February 26, "Spotlight: Philadelphia VIP"). Rory dropped out and is now working for a federal contractor as a writer. Check out the blog, where these happily-married white kids post about their adventures in food, a little travel, and then some more well-earned food. Sometimes, when Rory is asleep, Danielle even throws in some posts about crafts and other boring things, if you're into that.

A Taste of Things to Come

Hi all,

I just wanted to give anyone who might be reading the blog already something to keep them excited, and give anyone who isn't following us yet a reason to hop on board. I am going to give you a preview of some upcoming segments and individual posts we have planned!!!

This weekend is labor day, and we have some big ideas. Mostly the ideas are the lame kind of stuff that lame couples like us do: shopping, a bike ride up some trail to some historic or otherwise unimportant spot, probably having some wine together and passing out at 10pm, etc. But the stuff we plan to blog about should be neat.

This includes the first installment of what we hope is a recurring segment revolving around our quest to find our favorite cheesesteaks in the city! We have maybe had three or four so far, dating back to February 2011 when we first came out here to visit law schools. We have to take some time to recap what we have tasted so far, and then we plan to resume the search by checking out a nearby hoagie hotspot this weekend, which also claims to have the "Best Milkshakes on Campus!"

Another up and comer is going to deal with interesting quotes we hear, funny or awesome things professors and colleagues say, things we hear on the subway, and the like. I suspect Danielle will take the reigns on that segment, so if you like her better than me keep your eyes open!

Danielle also wants to update everyone on a very special Wii game in another, probably rare post from my lovely wife:) 

And finally, we are hoping to soon host a lovely, virtual HOUSE WARMING PARTY! We want everyone who has never been to Philly to understand what we go through on a day-to-day basis;) Really, though, we just want to have some fun and give you a chance to see the world from our eyes. Sadly many of you will never see our new home, so this will be your chance to get a brief walking tour of our place, neighborhood, and maybe even our new school! So get ready to pour yourself your favorite drink and join us for some mild celebration sometime soon.
